The first weekend of June is when the hut wakes up. For two weeks before, the whole family carries boxes up the path, airs every blanket and scrubs the floors until the pine smells like a forest again.
Fourteen days of carrying
Flour, butter, potatoes and cheese come up on the supply lift, but everything else goes on our backs. By opening day the pantry is full, the cellar is cold and the stove has been lit for three days.
What is new this year
We have added a gorge path to the waterfall and a new toboggan run for the winter. In the kitchen, there is a second soup on the menu and a vegetarian main that is not an afterthought.
We open the doors at eleven. Come hungry, we will take care of the rest.
